Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety is a normal and important part of the human experience. It can serve as a guide to where we are, where we need to go and help us recognize our own levels of comfortability in daily living.
It is important to have self-compassion, acceptance and awareness towards this part of ourselves that we call anxiety.
While anxiety is an important facet in our lives, it can sometimes “take over” and hold us down from the life we would like to live.
When anxiety becomes a chronic daily experience, it can start to interfere with our work lives, relationships and general wellbeing.
Often, we think about anxiety in terms of thoughts, such as worrying, ruminating, or fixating. Yet as humans, (and all animals for that matter) anxiety is a product of our nervous system which branches into our feelings, emotions and thoughts.
I will help you work with your anxiety.
As a therapist, I will help you better understand your anxiety, through focusing on present moment experiences, tracking your body, and helping you explore and become an expert of your own unique nervous system.
While we are all made of the same stuff, your nervous system is unique to you and has developed on your lived experience.
Anxiety is a natural part of the human experience, guiding our understanding of where we are and where we need to go.
Utilizing methods like ACT and mindfulness, I help clients explore their unique responses to anxiety, focusing on present moment experiences and bodily sensations to foster self-awareness and mastery over their own nervous systems.
